1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information Themis collects when you use our fundraising platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to founders, investors, and visitors to our website.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, and some information automatically:

• Account information: name, email, role, and password (handled via our authentication provider, Supabase).
• Founder profile and deck content: company description, sectors, stage, round details, team members, competitors, and the pitch deck file itself.
• Investor profile information: firm, check size, sectors and stages of interest, and any information an investor chooses to add to their profile.
• Communications: outreach drafts and messages sent through the platform, and any messages you send us directly, such as through our contact form.
• Payment information: subscription and billing details are handled by our payment processor, Flutterwave — Themis does not store your full card number.
• Usage data: pages viewed, features used, and similar log/analytics data, collected automatically.

3. How we use information

We use your information to:

• Operate the Service — generate your evaluation, run investor matching, power the pipeline board, and deliver messages and Data Room access between the founders and investors you connect with.
• Process your pitch deck and profile through the Themis Investment Intelligence Engine to generate your readiness score, dimension feedback, and Investment Panel read.
• Send transactional communications — account notices, evaluation updates, and billing receipts.
• Maintain and improve the Service, including monitoring for abuse and debugging issues.
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. The Themis Investment Intelligence Engine and technology providers

To generate your evaluation, your deck and profile content is processed by the Themis Investment Intelligence Engine. We work with several underlying technology providers and may switch or update which one powers the Engine without notice, so we don't name a specific vendor here. This processing is used solely to produce your evaluation and related features — we do not permit any technology provider we use to train their own models on your content, and we do not use your content to train anything shared with other founders or investors.

5. How we share information

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only in these situations:

• With investors or founders you choose to connect with — for example, when you grant an investor access to your Data Room, or send a founder a message.
• With service providers who help us run the Service under confidentiality obligations: Supabase (database and authentication), Flutterwave (payments), our evaluation engine's technology providers (processing for the Themis Investment Intelligence Engine), and our transactional email provider.
• For legal reasons — if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Themis or our users.
• In a business transfer — if Themis is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, in which case we'll notify you before your information is transferred.

6. Data Room and access controls

Data Room documents and your full deck are only visible to investors you've explicitly granted access to. You can review and revoke that access at any time from your account. Investor directory listings are visible to founders for diligence purposes; investors can edit or request removal of their own listing.

7. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage of the Service. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.

8. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your deck, evaluation history, scores, and pipeline data are removed from our systems, other than information we're required to retain for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes. Messages you've sent to another user may remain visible to that user after your account is deleted.

9. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level data isolation in our database — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's privacy

Themis is not directed to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.

11. International users

Themis is used by founders and investors around the world. By using the Service, you understand your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate, under this Privacy Policy.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can update most of your information directly in your account settings, or contact us to make a request.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you before they take effect, for example by email or an in-app notice.
